It's Day 1 of Rhonna's 21 Day Challenge. The challenge is to pick a habit you want to break or create and practice it every day for 21 days, and create art chronicling the progress.
There are so many habits I want to change, it's hard to pick just one.
I've gotten good about drinking more water, usually exceeding 8 glasses a day.
I've cut back on my alcohol consumption.
In 3 weeks I've only eaten off my JC plan once.
If you haven't been living under a rock, you know that the last piece missing from a health lifestyle is... (say it with me)
EXERCISE
(dum dum dummmm!!!)
Ugh. Don't enjoy it. Never have. It has always been a challenge for me. While there are a lot of habits I'd like to change, I'm going to tackle this one now with hopes that when having a more active lifestyle becomes a habit, I'll have more energy and confidence to tackle other habits.
So... with the knowledge I've gained from the FlyLady I'm going to approach this using baby steps. With the support I've gained from my Jenny Craig program, I'm going to celebrate my small wins. Their motto is "Every step you take is a step in the right direction." I don't have to kill myself at the gym for hours every day, I just have to MOVE MORE.
So, my habit is
I will move more every day.
Each day for the next 21 days I will either:
- workout at Curves or
- workout on the bowflex or
- take Lucy for a walk
And if I don't do any of those, I will celebrate the small steps I am taking by parking farther away, stretching, doing some crunches, tracking the steps I take throughout the day, and loving my body.
That is my pledge and I will document the journey in an art journal.
OK. I've already programmed my pedometer (gosh it took me 3 weeks to do that because I needed a tape measurer) and now I'm going to take some measurements of my body (wish I had done that when I started JC). I started a weight loss blog at extrapounds.com and it lets me keep track of progress with my measurements. I'm not sure how much I'll blog there, but I like the extra tools they have for tracking the journey.
Here I go!
